A Voice of Chocolate Desires

Often, I find myself desiring a certain chocolate treat that I’ve enjoyed in the past, which is no longer available to me or I no longer wish to purchase the item in its present packaged form.
  • What do I do?
  • How do I get a company to package treats the way I want?
  • How do I get a company to produce treats that I like to eat?

Do you ever find yourself with this dilemma?

I know I can’t be the only person in the world that has tasted something, but then after returning to the establishment (grocery store, ice cream shop, etc.) to purchase more of the delicious treat, the item is not available or is not packaged the way I would like it to be.  Maybe it has been discontinued or it was only a promotional item to test in the open-market.  These types of situations are disappointing to say the least.  You’re probably wondering which chocolate delights I’m referring to.  Well, there are three that quickly come to mind, but due to a limitation of space, I will only address one product today.
The “Oreo cookie WITHOUT the crème” is a deep chocolate cookie that satisfies my chocolate desires when I want something crunchy; it has an encompassing chocolate flavor that’s not too sweet with just the amount of savory taste.  However, Nabisco (owned by Mondelez International) does not package the “cookie WITHOUT the crème” – the Oreo cookie is made with sugary crème in the middle.

My idea of re-packaging is quite simple.

As a chocolate aficionado, I truly enjoy the “Oreo cookie WITHOUT the crème.”
Usually, I just scrape off the creme and eat only the chocolate cookie.  It seems I'm always on some type of diet, and I when I eat chocolate, I want only "chocolate" – no filler; I do NOT want "sugary crème" - the filler is unnecessary in my opinion, providing unwanted calories.  After scraping off the crème so many times, I began to think that I was wasting money, as I was purchasing all that sugary crème that I did not want to eat.  So, I began to purchase Oreos ONLY when on sale - this way I felt that I was not wasting money.

My Idea:

the "UN-Oreo", the "Oreo cookie WITHOUT the crème"

this is the product/packaging I would like to see in the stores,
and I would buy it even if it was not on sale!

I think it would cost less to produce the "UN-Oreo" cookie, as the sugary crème would be eliminated from the product; only the pure, delicious taste of chocolate would remain - a chocolate lover's delight.

And who would be the target customers?

  • Chocolate lovers, in the purest sense

  • Chocolate lovers committed to a healthy diet without excessive sugar

  • Chocolate lovers who seem to be on a perpetual diet (my mode for the past 20 years) - lol

  • Parents who do not want to give their children too much sugar, but still want to satisfy their children's taste and desire for chocolate.

Am I the only person in the world that would like stores to carry the UN-Oreo?
("Oreo cookie WITHOUT the crème")

I am asking everyone who reads my blog to give me your thoughts on this – maybe if we put our heads together (and become chocolate lobbyists), we can convince a conglomerate corporation to provide a product that we all want; and the corporation’s profit would ultimately soar. (In addition to their classic product - the Oreo, now they would also have the UN-Oreo, an additional source of income.)

It would be a Win-Win for all!
